j Occupancy Turns Back Mr. Boots in Kingston Ira Hanford Has McGee Fiily Length and One-Half in Clear MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 26. — Mrs. Jimmy McGees Occupancy, a sleek brown daughter of Occupation who won the initial race of her career over this track last season as a juvenile, this afternoon captured the featured Kingston Purse ] by a length and a half over W. H. Canes Mr. Boots. J. M. Roeblings Benbow was lapped on Mr. Boots in third placing and led William G. Helis, Jr.s, Irish Game and H. W. Finchers Bar by five lengths. Occupancy returned a generous 2 as the fourth choice of the estimated crowd of 9,449 and she completed the six furlongs over a fast track in l:12y5. She was lightly campaigned last year, winning two of her five starts, and has only been out two times prior to today in her current campaign. The most interesting point about the running was the confidently cool handling of the winner by jockey Ira Hanford. The veteran had her in front from a few yards after the beginning, but then kept reaching for more leather and had her under snug restraint while repulsing several furious bids from Mr. Boots. Not until Occupancy was passing the furlong marker did Hanford ask for acceleration. She readily responded to the shaking up and gradually drew away. Bar, who was heavily favored, was a stunning disappointment. He did not enter contention at any stage and had no apparent excuse for his poor showing.
