HYP HOME displayed the best speed in the going from the start and stubbornly held onto a narrow advantage through the final furlong while under strong hand urging. DRY FLY, reserved while not far back although racing slightly wide, challenged the top one in the stretch and just missed. MAIJO was a sharp factor from the outset and weakened in the final furlong. BRONZE WING pressed the pace for a half mile and tired. OUR JESTER showed little. BESITA outbroke her rider at the start. . DANS CHANCE, away alertly, -dropped back under restraint, worked his way up between horses when gaining best stride, took command on the inside after the final hurdle, veered out suddenly midway of the finish run and had to be cautiously handled, then drew clear. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of ONEIDA was not allowed. The latter, permitted to drop back in the early stages, improved position steadily on the outside after the sixth obstacle, threatened boldly, but was not good enough in the finish run. EPERON wrested command after the fifth jump, then tired. FATHOM was well placed from the beginning and had no mishap. REDUCE made a determined bid when hard put and gave way. ESCARGOT fenced poorly when tiring. SWING CHEER fell at the sixth hurdle. ROW fell at the second fence. Scratched— 17424 Richard A., 138; 577544 Le Faune, 148; 09237 Courtney, 148. FAIR SELF went into command after a furlong, drew clear rounding the turn, then increased her margin steadily while going along on her own courage. WHAT was prominent from the beginning, weakened in the drive, but lasted for the place. NORWEST saved ground and had no excuse. "FANBOROUGH bore out and raced wide. ACE SCHOLAR showed nothing. PSYCHIC , DREAM broke alertly and could not maintain a forward position. LURING pressed the pace and gave way as if short of a top effort. BOIS DARC was in close attendance of the pace on the rail, bore out on the turn and entering the stretch, came around STANDEE and got up in the concluding strides. The latter established a clear lead on the backstretch, came out slightly in midstretch when set down for the drive but was not good enough. DEEP RIVER, bothered slightly when the top one bore out, weakened in the drive. HARLEM MAID was outrun. WALL ST. GEORGE showed little. Won easily; second and third driving. COUNT TRIM lacked speed while on the inside the early stages;- gained best stride in midstretch and rapidly moved up to displace the leaders and won easily. MARSH TIGER gained command shortly after the start and held on gamely until the end but was no match for the winner. BELFASTER veered in leaving the gate then swerved-out sharply just after being righted, moved up to be a sharp contender before a quarter mile, then faltered in the drive.
