ROYAL BONES was close to the pace from the start and, forging to the front between TOP CHOICE and LUMENA in the stretch, took command to increase his advantage in the last furlong. AURORA DEB was never too far away and finished steadily to catch TOP CHOICE near the end. TOP CHOICE had the most early speed and saved ground, but weakened in the last furlong. LUMENA, although going wide on the stretch turn, made a fair bid for the leadership, then weakened. BIG BUSTER was racing well at the end. ROSILY was badly outrun. HIGH FLAVOR was unable to keep up with the pacemakers and failed to threaten. DUKE E. was going gamely at the end. HAPPY WEST was close enough early but failed to make an impression. QUE-LE-HACE, off forwardly, maintained a prominent position to the last sixteenth, then moved up to catch SUDURA and held her to the end. SUDURA went to the front at once and, after setting a good pace while saving ground, held on well. CAPTAIN CARVER was never too far away, but failed to greatly improve his position under urging. DREAM CREAM raced up on the inside in the stretch and turned in an impressive effort. GRAY REIGH weakened in the last eighth. SNIFFLES made up some ground. BEE JAY bore out badly on the stretch turn. WHITE BRAND saved ground in the first half mile and, coming to the outside of MATTAFOR in the stretch, headed him an eighth out and was all out to hold him to the end. MATTAFOR went to % front early and set the pace under restraint, then saved ground in the stretch an, although in rather tight quarters on the inside of WHITE BRAND, battled gamely to the end. BARGAINER saved ground most of the way in a steady effort. AMER-RAM was in rather tight quarters around the first turn and was not dangerous thereafter. DOCTORS DANDY had good speed for six furlongs. WHIRLA LEA was reserved in the first part while racing within striking distance, then moved strongly on the inside after finding a wide opening on the stretch turn and, heading BLOOM nearing the end, held her under hard urging. BLOOM fought it out with GALA FETE for early domination and took a short lead rounding the stretch turn to go in a creditable manner to the end. JO PILOT moved up strongly on the outside of the leaders on the stretch turn, but bore to the middle of the track when seemingly about to get to the front. WORCESTER was saved for the first six furlongs, then responded willingly to catch RARE JEWEL when starightened out in the stretch and was not in danger thereafter. NO REWARD gained gradually on the outside and, hard ridden through the stretch, finished with good courage. RARE JEWEL alternated with EASY SILVER in making the pace but weakened in the last eighth.
