Combat Boots Tops Eight In Water Color Handicap Putnam Stable Colt Gives His Rivals From 11 to 24 Pounds BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 5.— The ,500 Water Color Handicap, a classified event at a mile and a furlong, is the feature attraction at Belmont Park tomorrow. This is preceded by the ,000 Bracadale Purse at six furloongs. Eight have been named for the Water Color, headed by Putnam Stables Combat Boots with 126 pounds. He is asked to concede li pounds to C. B. Bohns Blue Hills, a dozen to Mrs. J. P. Rutherfords Donor and larger amounts to the others. Combat Boots won his last start here at the same distance with 122 pounds up, beating Donor, who carried 113, by three and a half lengths. Blue Hills finished last in that event under 119, trailing most of the way. Charf ran Stables Blenomar, who gets in the Water Color with 108 pounds, may be very dangerous to his older rivals. The Blenheim n. colt, who has won three races here this spring, led throughout his last to score over a fair field at a mile in 1:37. Another strong threat is Abe Levinsons High Bracket, who finished third behind War Poppy and Combat Boots in his last outing on May 22. Combat Boots gave High Bracket 11 pounds in that event and beat him a half length under a poorly judged ride. He gives 15 tomorrow. The field for the Water Color is completed by Ken, who has started only once since a sensational victory at Hialeah al- 1 most a year and a half ago; Blue Helmet and Mostest. Eddie Arcaro is slated to ride Ken, who carries the silks of Mrs. E. K. Weil, and the colt raced well enough in his first outing to suggest that he may be very 1 dangerous here. 4 The Bracadale has attracted a field of . six sophomores including Count Flame, who has been racing creditably against the best of the division, Stage, a recent win- / ner; Nimble Fex, Duke Fanelli, Do Report and Raes Reward.
