He raced will in his debut, finishing third behind Bobs Betty and Coffee Money, while tiring a bit. Off that effort he was sent back in the Camden Handicap and finished unplaced, about 11 lengths behind the victorious Woodchuck, in 1:10%. War Phar performed in the Wilmington Handicap here on opening day and was far - — from disgraced, while just five lengths behind Tea-Maker in 1:10%. He, too, is seeking his first success of the year after haying been no better than third in a half dozen previous outings. Shy Bim, Be Gracious, Telenews and Milldale would rate consideration off their best effort but such efforts are few and far between. Shy Bim lost her rider in a recent Garden State appearance after having been claimed from her previous engagement. Be Gracious raced fairly well behind Jack the Great here, while Telenews was second behind Senator Joe in a well-run dash. Hilldales last was in the slop and not too impressive. The Wilmington Manor Purse, which will be run as the third race, has attracted a fair field of two-year-olds to compete at the five furlongs distance. Prominent among the entrants are Brookfield Farms Isasmoothie, Holly Beach Farms Little Bullet and Walter A. Edgars Prince Dare. Others in the dash are Walter M. Jeffords Prestissimo, Belair Studs Sanction, Starle Stables Abbezac and the Rappahannock Farm coupling of Ronas and Nostrebor. Isasmoothie has impressed during his brief campaign and in the recent Christiana Stakes turned in a satisfactory effort while finishing in a dead heat for fourth behind Centime. He was beaten about six lengths in :58%, fastest five-furlong time of the meeting.
