DEETZI was reserved back of the early leaders, came fast when shaken for the drive and after taking command drew clear under brisk urging. FOURLEAFCLOVER held a clear lead when settled for the stretch run, tired when punished and was unable to withstand the winner. MERMAN finished willingly and made up some ground during the late stages. SIWANOY rallied too late to become an endangering factor. APPEARANCE raced evenly through the final furlong without mishap. HAM HOCKS began sluggishly HER CHANCE quit. PATROL WAGON appeared to dislike the sloppy underfooting. GALAMANT saved ground to no avail. TOP ATTRACTION retired steadily from a rapid beginning. VIRGINIUS, always within range of the early leaders, responded to brisk urging during the late stages and though attempting to lug in through the stretch was along in the late strides to prevail over BEAUPRE. The latter went to the front during the run down the backstretch, then held on tenaciously in a sharp effort. THERMION was unable to improve his position when placed to pressure. AMIK tired. TOURISTETTE was retarded when her hind bandage unravelled during the running. COUP-DE-VITE refused to break with his field, trailed throughout, but was not unduly persevered with when hopelessly beaten. FOURTH RACE 5 FURLONGS Widener straight course.
