OFF AT 2:331 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. FIRST PEEP outsprinted EVE without need of urging, opened a commanding lead in the drive and was taken in hand for the finish. THIRD CARBON saved ground, steadily improved position under a hustling ride and finished well. TONI CHOY lacked early speed, came to the outside for the drive and closed with a rush. GAYCOAL, sluggish and trailing the field, closed with belated speed. EVE could not match speed with the winner and quit. PAVOLD drifted out and tired. GRANDPAS SUE faltered under pressure. SHALLOW BROOK, a keen contender racing between horses, was crowded back on the stretch turn, but found passage when punished and closed gamely to be best. BLACK AND BLUE, reserved, while outrun, closed from the outside in the stretch drive and finished with a rush. TITANS MATCH held a clear lead under steady pressure into the last furlong and weakened. RISSAS SON was a sharp factor from the beginning and weakened. STAR PRINCE loomed a threat under punishment on the stretch turn and weakened. THORN gave way in the drive. DEL TEX MAID bore in at the start and forced back BUFF, was straightened to quickly dispose of COUNT FLIRT after a quarter mile opened a long lead and held her speed under mild pressure. She was disqualified for impeding BUFF and was placed third. PEDDIE never was far back and finished well to be safely clear of the others. BUFF was taken up sharply after the start, improved position under hard urging and finished well. SWIVET raced between horses and lacked a rally. COUNT FLIRT had brief speed and quit. Won driving; second and third the same. LORENA H. drove between horses in the stretch drive and gained the decision under hard punishment. GAY DRUMMER came around the leaders to make a strong challenge in the final stages, but was not good enough. ROCK DOZER was an alert factor and held on fairly well. OUR TOPPER set the pace under pressure, opened a clear lead entering the stretch, but weakened. MENAWA raced on the inside and weakened when set down for the final test. MR. MAJORITY could not reach contention racing oi. the outside. MISS COMEBACK was weakly handled at the start and was outrun. ANNA JARVIS WAS FRACTIOUS AND INJURED HERSELF AT THE STARTING GATE. BLUE MIRAGE opened a clear lead on the final turn and faltered under punishment. SILK QUEST hestitated while attempting to bear out on the stretch turn, then finished well on the outside. REGAL MANNER easily opened a commanding lead down the backstretch, weakened when challenged, but gamely bested SCRIPT. The latter was sent forwardly after a half-mile and closed fast from the outside in the last stages. COUNT CAVOUR was well placed under a rating hold, then did not respond when called upon.
