OUR FOLLY was rated back of HEDGEBILL until the latter showed signs of weakness, then went to the front and, shaken up while saving ground in the stretch, had enough left to hold MANCHAC. The latter moved strongly after leaving the backstretch and was gaining slowly at the end. RIOT came steadily in the final quarter. XALAPA PRIDE tired in the stretch. NEVERLATOR was badly outrun early and was never a strong contender. HEDGEBILL stopped badly in the stretch. Scratched— 848943 Graces Lady, 105. Overweight— Strike Out, 3| pounds. ALTRUISTIC was permitted to take it leisurely in the early running and moving up strongly on the outside after going five furlongs, took command in the stretch to draw out near the end. McCREIGHT headed GINNAS WAR after going a quarter and drew into a good lead, then held on courageously to best STARBOROUGH. The latter found an opening on the inside on the backstretch to move up, came to the outside in the stretch but had little left at the end. BOBS ACE closed some ground while racing wide. SHADY TUNE was unable to keep up. JUDY ROUNDERS tired. Overweight— McCreight, 2 pounds; Shady Tune, 1; Judy Rounders, 31. Attendance, 8,583; Total Mutuel Pool, 33,264.
