May 15. — The National Jockey Club will con-"" elude one of the most successful meetings ! in its 21 -year history tomorrow with the . running of nine races featured by the ,500 Sportsmans Park Handicap at a mile and a furlong. Although the weather for the | most part has been somewhat removed from seasonable, the attendance has held up well, and on several occasions the parr* mutuel business has soared to over ,-000,000 for a single days play. Despite a rather lengthy stretch in which the racing* . strip was far from fast, the form of the horses has been adequate. En Fleur, the racing star of the sessfan; will be one of those taking part in tomorrows feature. The four-year-old filly owned?, by J. H. Nail, is unbeaten here and will be in quest of her sixth straight success, four f of which were chalked up at this course,. , En Fleur and Dr. Ole Nelson, Hawthorne Gold Cup winner of 1950, are the high-weights in the Sportsmans Park Handicap i which will be at one and one-eighth miles. Each will carry 118 pounds, with Winle Morrissey riding En Fleur. and Paul Bailey*: on Dr. Ole Nelson. She then came back to win the ,000 Native Dancer Handicap in succession. She has beaten every horse in the race with the exception of Dr. Ole Nelson, Pussy Cat, and Happy East. Dr. Ole Nelson, a distance runner, figures to be at home over Saturdays route. He has been tried at seven furlongs twice, and was second to Dr. Felix and fourth in an event won by Etelka. The veteran was finishing fast on each occasion. In her last race at seven furlongs En Fleur was doing her best to hold Whirlahead, while Etelka was third two lengths back of the latter. Echo Rock was fifth and Blunt sixth in that affair. Albemarle was unplaced at five furlongs last out, while Blue Licks was third to Clear Day and Cajac, yesterday. Pussy Cat took three purses at Gulf-stream Park, and the distance in each instance was one and one-sixteenth miles. The daughter of Tiger first clicked for a ,500, then for ,250, and later for ,500. She took three purses as a two-year-old last year. Happy East has no victories to date this season but won four races last year. The Sportsmans Park Handicap is but one of the six route races scheduled for Saturday. Two of the other events are at one and one-sixteenth miles, two at one and one-eighth miles, and the concluding number will be the longest race of the meeting, the distance being one and five-eighths miles.
