Campbell Praises Setup For Turfmen at Delaware HBPA Divisional Vice-President Says Facilities Model for Nation STANTON, Del., May 15.— Following an inspection of the vastly improved facilities for horsemen in the Delaware Park stable area here Wednesday, Bruce S. Campbell, vice-president of the Maryland-Delaware-West Virginia division of the HBPA, called the Stanton tracks set-up a model for the nation. Campbell, owner of the Preakness hopeful, Ram o War, was particularly impressed with the large number of bunk-houses which have been built since last season at Delaware Park. He indorsed Delawares plan of not permitting anyone to sleep in the barns. Accompanied by Joseph B. Kelly, secret tary of the local division of the HBPA, and Clark Pardee, track superintendent, the horsemens representatives expressed approval of neatly designed bunk rooms, most of which are equipped with individual toilet facilities. The horsemen were also impressed with the new concrete firewalls which have been built into every barn on the Delaware backstretch. A firewall separates every 20 stalls. Campbell said that he would ask the horsemen to cooperate with Delaware Park officials in executing a number of fire drills which are scheduled before the opening of the meeting here on May 29. Horsemen will begin moving into the stable area today. Campbell told Delaware officials that horsemen and their employees annually look forward to the Delaware Park meeting not only because of comfortable quarters but also for the supervised schedule of entertainment and sports activities which is listed during the Delaware Park session.
