ASH TRAY worked his way up along the inside to near contention on the far turn, moved readily when put to pressure through the stretch and was along to outfinish PRINTERS DEVIL. The latter rushed boldly on the outside to take command in the stretch, but was unable to draw clear. LONE PILOT, a forward factor, failed to make up ground under late urging. DESCENTIVE went evenly. MISS MELISS rallied on the far turn and went evenly thereafter. NOTTS FOREST quit. FIGHTING HOME showed nothing. ETERNAL GREAT was unable to keep up. The others were outrun. MISS CROSS moved close to the leaders before entering the stretch, assumed command at the furlong pole and drew clear while moving to the rail near the end. CLAIRE DAUBER slipped through along the inside to wrest the lead from EYE CATCHER, saved ground into the stretch, held on gamely after giving way and was eased out to challenge again inside the final sixteenth. FINCHHAVEN rushed boldly on the far turn, raced wide into the stretch, then appeared to hang. LINWOOD HARRY moved close to the leaders on the final turn, but lacked a closing drive. PACIFIC BOUND made up ground in the late stages. BINKY B. showed nothing. WESTERN NIGHT was through early. EYE CATCHER quit after losing the lead. NINE GEES was unable to keep up. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of CLAIRE DAUBER was allowed, CLAIRE DAUBER being the official winner and MISS CROSS was placed second. BERNIE MOOSE rushed boldly on the outside to vie for the lead and was ridden very close by MISSION. HERE ME rallied in the late stages. RISKIE BOUND established the pace to the stretch and weakened. SWIFT STEVE dropped back suddenly after breaking alertly and was unable to regain lost ground. SIR COUNTRY had no mishap. CANT PLEASE broke slowly, rushed boldly around the outside to reach the leaders, was moving to the front near the furlong pole when he swerved into the inner rail and had to be eased up.
