Ohio Notes ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio May 23. Jockey Eddie Plesa, who is making a runaway out of the jockey race, scored another triple here Thursday, his fourth in the past nine racing days. He has also ridden the first winner on the card five times in the past seven days and has figured in the Double on six of those afternoons. Jockey Luis Rivera won two races here Thursday and shows no ill effects from his long lay-off over the winter months. Last year Rivera was the second leading rider here, placing behind Howard Craig. John S. Pettibone, of Middleburg, Va.. was a clubhouse visitor Thursday and was very pleased with the showing of his two-i year-old True Play, a first-time starter who won the third race. Pettibone bred the horse at his Homewood Farm in Virginia. True Play is the first horse that Pettibone has ever sent postward. Andy Cunningham, a placing judge at this course, will depart at the conclusion of the meeting for Laurel Raceway, where he mans the public address system. Cunningham is a veteran of both the standard-breds and the runners and is one of the few offcials that is active in both ends of the racing game. With only two more weeks left to go. Ascot Park is still showing a slight gain in the mutuel handle over a corresponding period last season. Considering the adverse weather conditions, this is quite remarkable. Thus far through 31 days of racing there have been only six fast tracks.
