WRIGHT ANGLE set the pace under good rating and held sway over MOUSEWAY. The latter was steadied just off the leader to the stretch, then swerved repeatedly when placed, to pressure during the drive. HARDINESS closed ground after being slow to respond. VITAL showed an even effort. AIR QUEEN gave way after holding a favorable position to the stretch. COL. MARCUS displayed brief speed and quit. ISH-KABBLE, steadied early, was well handled while moving through along the inside to attain command leaving the backstretch, established a clear lead and held sway under mild urging. DELOVE raced forwardly from the start but was no match. WHITE HAWK was within striking distance from the start, lacked a rally when urged and came out of the race dead lame. DISPUTANTA weakened after being in front early. BOUGENT wore down only tired horses. KONTINU dropped back gradually when outrun for the early lead. NORTH CLARK was outrun. NATIVE DANCER saved ground while being rated within easy striking distance of the leaders, moved through on the inside of TAHITIAN KING to take over the runner-up position on the final turn, displaced DARK STAR entering the stretch and, after attaining a clear advantage, withstood the determined challenge of JAMIE K. The latter was allowed to race on his own courage early, moved smartly from the three-eighths pole, engaged the leader soon after being straightened for the drive, but was not good enough. ROYAL BAY GEM trailed early, responded when roused but was no threat to the top pair. RAM 0 WAR lacked the necessary qualities. DARK STAR was well rated while on the lead, held sway to the stretch and faltered badly. TAHITIAN KING pressed the early pace and gave way. CORRESPONDENT was through after about six furlongs.
