MARA MOO went to the front before going a half mile and held sway thereafter when fully extended. LITTLE COLLEEN came fast when set down for the drive and steadily was wearing down the winner. IMPERIAL LAMAR, never far back, failed to respond when called upon for her best effort. STORM AT SEA, forced to take up slightly at the three-furlong marker, failed to sufficiently recover. FANELPSALLEY made the pace to the stretch while saving ground, repelled repeated challenges from DIXIE VIXEN during the late stages, then gradually drew clear. DIXIE VIXEN raced in nearest pursuit of the leader to the furlong marker, moved up menacingly on the outside during the drive, but faltered when punished. GLORIOUS EMMA raced evenly through the stretch without apparent mishap. MONTE CASSINO began sluggishly. WAR-ASTER failed to stay. GAYOWEN never was dangerous. DIRECT HIT quit. SEA TERM fenced cleverly after assuming command nearing the fourth hurdle, held sway to the final turn under steady rating and continued on gamely when subjected to intermittent urging. ST. QUILL, always within striking distance, moved up menacingly when straightened for the stretch run, but under punisment was unable to seriously endanger the top one. INDIAN FIRE alternated in setting and pressing the early pace, then had little left when the real test came. CARTHAGE never was formidable. tURLY JOE was outrun. TORNABUONI, sluggish during the early running, lacked the necessary rally. JIGGLE was unable to keep up. SUMBURA was outrun. The latter sprinted into a length lead during the run down the backstretch, shortened -stride inside the stretch and was unable to hold the winner. DENNY made up some ground when hard hustled through the late stages. COMMUTER began sluggishly. IN THE VAN quit. ZOP never threatened. BLAST OROSES was unable to keep, up. MISS DOW showed nothing. BLAIREAU sustained a cut mouth while fractious at the post and was never formidable during the running.
