Omos Choice Registers First Victory of Career Takes Measure of Blend-Rock In Opener on Dade Park Card DADE PARK, Henderson, Ky., Aug. 25. The first all-claiming program of the annual meeting of the Dade Park Jockey Club was staged here this afternoon and despite the lack of better grade horses a crowd estimated at 4,000 turned out for the seven races, which was favored by ideal weather,. Omos Choice, coupled in the mutuel field, won the first race, a six furlongs dash for three-year-old maidens. Blend-Rock was second and Danger Martin, another fielder, was third. Well rated by R. L. Barber, the daughter of Joes Choice made every post a winning one but was under a drive to garner a length decision. Blend-Rock, which chose the overland in the stretch, got the second award, by half a length from the tiring Danger Martin, which had a good advantage an eighth from the finish over the fast-closing Blend-Rock. Pat Hust forced the pace for a half and when the ultimate winner opened a four lengths lead entering the stretch the James C. Ellis colorbearer, which was the public choice, gave way. An accident marred the opening event when Chat N Chew fell on the far turn and Offish fell over her. Neither J. C. Fernandez, aboard Chat N Chew, nor apprentice Neal Johnson, who had the mount on Offish, were badly hurt. Fernandez cancelled his remaining mounts but Johnson rode out his two other engagements. Installed an odds-on choice, James C. Ellis Mike Ehret won her first race of the meeting, winning by two lengths from Bossy Sis in the second race, which was also at six furlongs. Sly Syl lost the place by a nose. Handled by Elvie Hust, Mike Ehret was sent to the front soon after the start, shook off Hays Brother on the far turn and opened a three lengths lead entering the stretch. Sly Syl took up the chase when the early pace forcers fell back but he could never get close to the flying Mike Ehret, although remaining in second place until the final jump when Bossy Sis got up in the last stride. Kitty-Comooch and jockey Guillermo Sil-va were the winning combination in the six furlongs third race. Installed the public choice, the winner, after forcing the pace made by Go Dutch, drew away in the stretch and won by two and one-half lengths. Joy Leader was an easy -second, while Go Dutch lasted to outnod Ballerina Girl for the show.
