No Disgrace from the Cedar Farm was second three lengths in arrears and a neck in front , of Our Jan at the end of the six furlongs. It was a hot afternoon here in northern Ohio and a shirt-sleeved crowd of 5,275 attended the nine-race program. Racing up the backstretch, Beach Admiral was in front by a head over Our Jan who, in turn, was one length before No Disgrace. Golden Tempest was between horses and fourth. Betsy Marie was still well in -arrears now in seventh spot. Approaching the far turn, the Cedar Farm colorbearer moved past Our Jan by a head with Beach Admiral, beginning to tire, third, and Golden Tempest fourth. Betsy Marie had moved up another notch and was sixth some three, lengths back, while between horses. Anyon reached down and hit his mount several times on the final bend and she responded gamely and moved along fast and on the stretch turn was third, two lengths back of No Disgrace, who -was still a head in front of Our Jan. Just inside the furlong marker, Betsy i Marie forged to the front and she had little trouble increasing her advantage in the final sixteenth as both Our Jari and No. Disgrace were getting weary. Proud Son, who finished fourth, closed well from his outside position, but could not seriously menace the top three. M. Carters Miss Lakeview, strongly ridden by Evan Anyon, triumphed in the sixth race, beating Mr. T.
