Teal Filling Favorites Rofe in Lincoln Sprint Given Edge Over Wealthy Saint, Mac Galus in Allowance Event By DEAN WILLIAMS Staff Correspondent LINCOLN, Nebr., Aug. 25 Wednesdays "program has a number of very attractive races carded. The fifth and sixth races are for platers at distances of five furlongs and six and oixe-half furlongs. These races will draw a great deal of interest because they are written with the condition that the winners will be preferred. The afternoons program will be headed by the seventh race, which is an allowance affair at five furlongs. Owner-trainer R. E. "Bob" Lee seems to have found a very good spot for his good mare Teal to gain top honors. She finished third in her last out to Big Ditch and Prairie Moon. The daughter of Andy K. was pushed from the beginning by Prairie Moon as she set the pace. She was tiring as she neared the wire and was beaten off three lengths. Her top performance at this meeting was when she was beaten by the narrowest of margins in the six and one-half furlongs Hotel Capital Handicap by Star Spot and Whatcetera. The mare would seem to prefer the five-furlong distance and should turn in a sharp effort. The top contention from the field of First Street. Erwin K., Wade Ray, Mac Galus, Wealthy Saint, Aunt Cissy and Honey-Kist would be the entries of Lawrence Harbaugh and Joe Lee. Wealthy Saint has failed to reach the winners circle since the Omaha meeting, but he won on two occasions at that mile track. Mac Galus has started a number of times with varying degrees of success and could be the upset horse if he would turn in his best effort. Wayne Murty, the leading rider at the current meeting, booted Subjugate home to an upset victory over Easy Dixie yesterday. Subjugate assumed command at once while racing along the inside; then was not asked for his best until the Williams mare chal-length for the lead at the head of the stretch. He finished strongly under a good ride and. held a neck margin at the wire. The two ran the fastest five furlongs of the meet as they ran the distance in :564,s. Subjugate returned 1.00 to the lucky few.
