Soldier Son, Navy Lord Seek South Shore Purse Topweighted Narragansett Rivals Among Good Field of Sprinters NARRAGANSETT PARK, Pawtucket, R. I., Aug. 25. A well-matched iield of eight sprinters are scheduled to vie for honors in the six-furlong South Shore Purse, which highlights the first mid-week program of the current meeting. Irving Gushens Soldier Son and C. J. Fionas Navy Lord are equal topweights of the field with 117ponuds, but each appears to have his work cut put for him if he carries the impost to victory Such capable speedsters as Hiram Jr., Arts Boy, Elliot L., Cross Ring, Hit Parade and Our Dorie will be getting weight concessions sfrom four up to 11 pounds and off past meetings any one of this group is capable of picking up another victory. An interesting mile and a sixteenth allowance test for sophomores follows the running of the feature, with a dozen being named overnight. Africance, Coherence, Dare Devil, Sun Jeep, Cuanden, News Again, Atomic Kiss, Fran Jr., Tickie O., Wismo, Halrack and Clover Lady comprise the field with probable favoritism going to ,Africance. The daughter of Ajax is after her second straight triumph since returning to New England after jaunts to Monmouth Fark -nd Saratoga where she competed, in t .es engagements. A seven-pound apprentice allowance has been claimed for the Grant miss making her weight 108 pounds to allow Dallas Harrier the mount.
