ARTHUR ITIS, unhurried in the first half mile, responded gamely to urging while between horses through the stretch and, after wresting command, was drawing clear. YOUNG TURK was between horses most of the trip, finished up strongly and should do the next time. ORTHOPEDIC opened a clear lead on the turns and then faltered. BROKEN ARCHES showed an even effort. PAPAVER had speed in spots. FRENCH ROCKET tired. CUB quit. SMARTJAX turned in a miserable performance. LOVELY LOCUST closed gamely from the start, bore in a trifle near the end and just missed. LUMENA raced in the first flight throughout and was in close quarters near the end. BALL THE JACK was responsible for the pace to the furlong marker and then quit. BOOGIE WATCH was never a serious contender. BIT 0 PROSE tired. GALLABLUE was never a factor in a dull performance.
