LADY FINN improved her position gradually, engaged for the lead in the stretch and outfinished TRAVELER. The latter drew clear soon after the start, dominated the pace and just missed. VAL-O-VAL saved ground to better late position. VERIBEST raced wide on the final turn and lacked a rally. NO CARES had no mishap. DESCENTIVE was in between horses most of the trip and failed to respond in the late stages. YOULL LEARN failed to make up appreciable ground with late rally. GAME LADY was used up forcing the pace. ENTHUSED passed tiring horses with a late challenge. MEDITATION assumed an early lead, remained in close attendance of the pace after giving way, weakening in the final furlong. IRISH PRINCE showed nothing. KING HIGH went evenly. MASTER BRIAN was never formidable. CLICK showed a dull effort. The others were outrun. LUCKY CODINE WAS SORE GOING IN THE POST PARADE AND ORDERED SCRATCHED. ALL MONIES WAGERED ON LUCKY CODINE IN THE RACE WERE REFUNDED. The latter assumed command early, established the pace to the final furlong andheld on tenaciously after giving way. PRINTERS DEVIL moved to engaged the leader in the Stretch and faltered. HANDIWORK saved ground to no avail. TWINTONE weakened after forcing the pace. BROTHER MARCH came through along the inside, but was unable to threaten. ASH TRAY was unable to keep up. The. rider of AFRICANCE claimed a foul against the winner and after examination of the film of the race, the stewards disqualified FRAN JR. and placed him second. HASTI NIGHT assumed an early lead under restraint, dropped back down the backstretch, was sent through along the inside to regain the lead and drew out and then faltered. HIGH JACKIE weakened.
