Top Lincoln Sprinters In Ak-Sar-Ben Handicap Merry Sizzle and Easy Dixie Meet For Fourth Time in Sprint Event By DEAN WJLLIAMS Staff Correspondent LINCOLN, Nebr., Aug. 26. Omaha will be feted on Thursday afternoons program. The feature, a five-furlong handicap for three-year-olds and upward has been named the Ak-Sar-Ben Handicap. The race for a purse of ,200 has drawn most of the best sprinters on the grounds, which include Merry Sizzle, 118; Easy Dixie, 116; Boswell Queen, 113; Mor Inshoots, 112; Honey-Kist, 112; Mac Galus, 108; Sonny Pass, 108; Pair of Roses, 101, and Cala-j veras Gal, 102. Honey-Kist and Mac Galus j are running this afternoon and may decide not to run in this feature. Jack Sissons Merry Sizzle found the distance too far and the track too fast in his last outing in the mile and 70 yards Hotel Lincoln Handicap He was unable to hold the lead for much more than a half-mile in that event which has given rise to the thought that he may not have liked the hard condition of the track. He has been beaten soundly in his last two outings which were over this track, giving him a four-pound drop in weight. The 118-pound impost he will carry is 12 pounds less than he carried in the last five furlongs he ran which would give him a good chance to return to his winning ways. Easy Dixie, racing under the rose and green blocks of Floyd. Williams, has met Merry Sizzle on three occasions, beating him once in the three meetings. He beat her over the five furlongs course at Columbus jvith a seven-pound weight spread. In Thursdays Ak-Sar-Ben there is only a weight difference of two pounds. The Sisson star has lost his form which seen him win four consecutive starts at Columbus. This may overshadow the shift in weights in his direction. The daughter of Easy Mon has held a sharp edge up to her last start. If she turns in the type of race she ran Monday she will be hard to beat. Phil Raaschs three-year-old filly, Mor Inshoots, and H. H. Barkers Boswell Queen, must be given a chance to down the two topweighted horses. Mor Inshoots, a speedy daughter of Morsel, won her last three starts against horses of her own age. The Barker miss had considerable trouble in her last in which she finished unplaced to Subjugate and Easy Dixie as they ran the fastest five furlongs of the meeting in :56.
