SOUTH POINT worked his way , forward to the stretch, forged to the front inside the furlong marker and briskly drew clear when fully extended. MARCATO assumed a brief lead after being straightened for the drive, but was unable to hold the winner when the real test came. MUHARRAM failed to sufficiently respond when called upon for his best effort. PRINCE HENRY passed tiring horses. ROS CLAG quit. TOMMY TIDDLER and BRUSHLESS never were dangerous. DOCEDOE, unhurried when outrun to the stretch, responded to punishment to replace BUCKY C. during the drive and won drawing away. The latter sprinted into a length lead during the run down the backstretch, shortened stride inside the stretch and was unable to hold the winner. DENNY made up some ground when hard hustled through the late stages. COMMUTER began sluggishly. IN THE VAN quit. ZOP never threatened. BLAST OROSES was unable to keep up. MISS DOW showed nothing.
