Free Trip to World Series For Naming Runyon Fund Pony LOS ANGELES, Calif., Aug. 26 A free, all-expense paid trip to the 1953 World Series via TWAs super constellation Ambassador flight for naming a pony! Thats the prize offered by Western Harness Fvacing Association in cooperation with the Damon Runyon Memorial Cancer Fund as it opens a four-week contest to obtain a name for the Hackney pony it received in return for a 0,000 contribution to the Runyon Fund. In addtion to the grand prize, there are 20 additional prizes of season tickets .to this falls Western. Harness Racing Association meeting at Hollywood Park, October through December 5. The rules are simple. Each suggested name must be limited to three words or less and must be accompanied by a statement of 25 words or less telling why this name has been entered in the contest. There is no limit to the number of names that may be turned in by one contestant, but a .00 contribution to the Damon Runyon Canter Fund must accompany each name submitted. Mail all entries to the WHRA-Damon Runyon Pony Naming Contest, post office box 2531, Terminal Annex, Los Angeles, Calif. Make checks payable to the Damon Runyon Memorial v Cancer Fund. Official entry blanks are not necessary, but may be obtained along with a set of the official rules by writing to the above. Deadline is September 20.
