MISS DIRECT gained the lead soon after the start, was in the middle of the track for the final drive and, while being fully extended, held sway over BLUMISSION. The latter moved along rapidly while saving ground on the turns and was making up some ground on the winner. EMERGENCY HOUR lacked the necessary rally while on the outside. TEMPLEMOYLE wore down tiring horses. - DARBY DAMOUR was never a factor. MAN 0MUSIC quit badly. A REWARD showed nothing. ETERNAL GLOW quit. ACQUIESCE dropped back soon after the start, was in close quarters on the far turn, moved to the inside just inside the furlong marker and after wresting command near the end was beginning to draw clear. BOLD GYPSY raced in a favorable position from the outset, moved through between horses to gain the lead in the early stretch and then held on gamely in the final drive. EASTER AIRLINE closed gamely from the outside. MARYS FRANK was never a factor. MISS CINDY faltered. GATEWOODS GAL was responsible for the early pace and tired. SCALE was unhurried while racing in a favorable position, moved up fast on the outside on the final turn and through the stretch and after wresting command drew clear. DIAMOND NED allowed to settle into best stride, was in the middle of the track for the drive, looming dangerously a sixteenth out and then hung. DIAMOND NEDS rider claimed that he was bothered by SCALE as the latter made his move but the motion pictures showed no evidence of a foul being committed and the result was made official. BUCKSHOT moved up on the outside to gain the lead going to the far turn, moved to the inside when clear and then faltered. COPA-TIP was never a factor. APPLE SEED tired. R. opened a clear lead soon after the start, tired through the.stretch and was unable to hold the top one. McCREIGHT moved along while between horses on the backstretch, was on the outside for the stretch run and finished up well. McCREIGHTS rider claimed a foul against thewinner, but the pictures revealed no evidence of a foul being committed and the result was made official. RED FLUSH tired. HI JOE was never a factor.
