Bond Seen PT all Favorite i races Strong Field of Seven In Barometro, Big Money and Mahoon in Feature Event RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, Ay g. 26. The Plain Dealer Purse, at six furlongs, headlines the nine-race card at Ran-Lall Park on Thursday afternoon. The feature has drawn an excellent field of eight, lincluding the Lloyd Gentry-trained coup-iig of Big Money and Crownlet. Slated to face that duo are C. F. Wise-jcjwvers Isle of Bond, J. T. Kirbys Skin ljunior, D. P. Chambers Barometro, Mrs. It, A. Randolphs Mahoon, Mrs. Leo Wag-Krs Nickey W., and Mrs. E. P. Simms Kpunky. Isle of Bond, who is trained by "Irish" Ijimmy Stewart and will be ridden by Joe ISsrvis, may be a slight favorite in the Easy Lion. Isle of Bond ran in the Great Lakes jtakes on Saturday and, after looming dan-rous on the far turn while on the out-Kie of horses, flattened out and wound up wth. Isle of Bond won his only other local Kart when he came from far off the pace Wo defeat Big Money, going six furlongs on a slow track. Barometro has won four races this year md over 1,000 in purses, having finished in the money five other occasions. In his oaly race at Randall Park he beat Jack Jr. by three lengths on the turf. Barometro was nicely rated by jockey Sanchez, who 1 again be in the irons Thursday, and saving ground on the turns drew clear in tse final furlong while under a stiff drive. The Chilean-bred accountedIor two races while at River Downs before invading northern Ohio. He beat his stablemate, Bplingover, in an overnight handicap by a HSlf length, and in an allowance .race defeated Doctors Daddy by four lengths at cge mile and one-sixteenth. Gentry Entry Definite Threat The Gentry entry will be a definite threat in the Plain Dealer. Big Money was cond in his last race to Isle of Bond, tiring in the late stretch. Before that race he beat The Veep by a nose in a thrilling contest in tthich the son of Bull Lea came, on again in the final strides to take victory away from the Taylor and Clapp color-bearer. Crown-let has tailed off "somewhat in her most recent efforts, but she may show improvement in here. Under the conditions of the ace the home-bred daughter of Half Crown will pick up 114 pounds. Mahoon has been given a long rest period by trainer Mills. The gelding last ran on kaly 29 and wound up unplaced to Kinsman ft one mile and one-sixteenth. Mahoon has always been better suited in a sprint and won such a race on July 24 when he bested Miss Degree by a length and one-quarter in m:12. Last year Mahoon won the Shaker Handicap and also defeated Sedgeview while running for 2,000 at Pimlico in the fall the year. He will be ridden by the veteran Arnold Kirkland. Nickey W., who shares the track record here for the six furlongs of 1 : 10, won the Shaker Handicap on opening day, beating Shag Tails by a nose after a stirring" stretch battle. Since that time in two starts line son of Jimmy Mor an has found the going a little too rough. He was third to Big Money on July 29 and then came back on August 5, and as the odds-on favorite wound up third once again, beaten four lengths by Bolingover and Heutel. Nickey W. loomed dangerously a furlong out, but then hung badly in the final drive. He has flteen given a three-week rest by trainer Wagner, and he must always be considered 3.s a threat here at Randall, where he shows a particular liking to the racing strip.
