, i ; Smallest Fields of Meet Make Up Dade Park Card Owensboro Purse Brings Out Six With Pat Brooks Topweighted DADE PARK, Henderson, Ky., Aug. 26. The smallest fields of the meeting make up the racing program here Thursday afternoon, but at the same time it is the strongest Thursday card of the 29-day session of which 19 have already been completed. The 20th day brings together well-balanced fields and two of the best are the fourth, -a six furlongs event in which half a dozen are entered, and the sixth, in which seven are scheduled to run over the eight furlongs distance. The sixth appears to be the top number of the day. It included Mels Best, Pat Brooks, Brief Sun, Hold dOr, Assimilate and the entry of Holy Cats and Just Buster. They are representatives of F. M. Ashby and J. H. Homan, respectively. Under the conditions Pat Brooks, representative of T. O. Logsdon, is to carry top weight of 120 pounds, Mels Best, which raced in handicap races here, is next at 117,, and is followed by Just Buster, at 115. Brief Sun, 112, Assimilate, 107, and Holy Cats, 104, round out the weights for this race, which has been named the Owensboro Purse. The Sprint affair is named the Boon-ville Standard Purse, which honors the nearby periodical. It brings together a strong band of sprinters, some of them getting in under high weights, especially Ariel Streak, the Char-Mar Farm color-bearer, who has been assigned 121 pounds. Senecas Coin, Coralies Girl, Narragansett, Brownie Lady and Teddys Toy are to match their speed against Ariel Streak. Two-year-olds are to furnish the sport in the third, the usual five furlongs dash, while the fifth is at six furlongs and a renewal of the Patina Two-Ducks affair is expected. The last time they met Patina got a close decision, but Patina was set back through a disqualification. Others entered here are Seven Graces, Spinners Boy, Wiggles Fancy, Frost Sparks and Naomi. The seven-race program is brought to a close with a mile and one-eighth race. The first and second are at six furlongs and have the -largest fields on the card; ; . " P" . !" j 1
