Tahitian Is Coupled With Big Stretch Lismore Prince Goes Into Mile Event at Washington Fresh From Recent Score WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., Aug. 26. The Evergreen Park Purse has attracted eight veteran campaigners to go a mile at Washington Park Thursday afternoon. Hasty House Farms Tahitian, Carl Grahams Air Flight, Mrs. R. L. Reinemans Whither, Walmac Farms Adams Off Ox, and Duntreath Farms False must each carry top weight of 117 pounds in the ,000 allowance event. Big Stretch, the joint property of Hasty House and Mrs. Harry Trotsek; A. F. Walls Lismore Prince, and Charfran Stables Blenomar, are in six pounds lighter. Big Stretch will go as an entry with Tahitian. Lismore Prince is the only starter going off a recent win. The four-year-old Prince-quillo colt won his last here at a mile a i week ago. It was his maiden victory and his 3 first start since 1951, when he raced- four, times without scoring! Caroll Bierman gets ; 5 the mount on Lismore Prince Thursday. Tahitian, four-year-old son of Polynesian, , was second at a mile here recently. In four . middle-distance affairs at. Arlington, he a failed to finish in the money. Big Stretch Dropping Down Big Stretch is in slightly lower company 7 than he has been competing with recently. His last effort was good for fourth behind I High Scud and, before that, he ran third to Vantage. Both races were at a mile. The ; five-year-old gelding, who showed promise of great things as a juvenile, has three third place finishes in 15 starts this year. Johnny Adams has been assigned the ; mount. Billie Fisk has been assigned to False for . the Evergreen. The five-year-old wound up , fifth in a mile and one-sixteenth affair . won by Vantage last week. In his only Arlington start, the Laurance Armour Memorial Handicap on the grass, he finished in a , like position. Adams Off Ox hasnt been a , part of the Homewood campaign as yet. , His last start was the Arlington Handicap , in which he finished sixth. His best effort at that meeting was a second in the Armour Memorial. Whither, four-year-old son of Third Degree, was eighth in a sprint here two weeks ago. In two appearances -at Arlington, he finished twelfth in the Equipoise Mile and seventh to Hill Gail when the Calumet charge set a new six-furlong track record. Blenomar finished third in High Scuds mile win last week. Earlier at this meeting, the four-year-old Blenheim colt was fifth to Jampol at a mile and one-sixteenth on the grass. He finished second twice and third once at a mile or better at Arlington. Air Flight, five-year-old son of Bimelech, is mostly a sprint performer. In two Home-wood starts, both at six furlongs, he finished ninth and second. Before competing here he raced rather well in good allowance company at Detroit. Eldon Nelson gets the mount on Air Flight.
