SUPER SUE took a good lead on the second turn when the pacemakers went wide and increased her margin on the backstretch, then tried to bolt after leaving the backstretch, but retained command to pull away again in the stretch. BOSTON MON improved his position after going a half and was clearly best of the others. FOOT SECRET made up some ground but did not threaten the first-two. PAT CARTER also closed ground. DADGUMIT tired. LAURA JO had early speed, but bore out badly On the Second turn, taking FIRST GREEK with her. KETURAH NELL was iff close quarters on the stretch turn. «£ . ANGELS DOLL was closest to BON ZEVIAL while the latter was making the pace and got to the front on the backstretch to open up a good lead, then withstood a stretch challenge from PASSER to hold the latter to the end. PASSER saved ground all the way and was hard hustled through the stretch to go well to the finish. TIGER TRIP was always a contender. BAKERS HOPE weakened after making a mild move nearing the stretch turn. BAD MARGIE was going well at the finish. BON ZEVIAL tired badly after going five furlongs. SAINT NICHOLAS was outrun for about three-eighths, then moved up steadily and, gaining gradually on BAYOU ROSE in the stretch, got to the front near the end. BAYOU ROSE took a short advantage and increased her margin after going half the trip, but was not good enough. WHEEL N DEAL was forced wide by CONNIE-JO on the second turn, but continued gamely thereafter. GYPSY FIDDLE was prominent to the stretch, then began to weaken. THISTLE WAR was outrun. HYPOSTYLE was slow to get in stride and his rider, injured in the race, was unable to do him justice. ONE GAMBLE had early speed. MAGIC MOTION, well up from the start, was sent through an opening on the inside of GUINEA GOLD after going a half to take command and although going a trifle wide nearing the stretch turn and headed by GIN TONIC, continued well to best the latter. GIN TONICS rider hesitated momentarily before sending the colt through an opening nearing the stretch turn but got him to the front on the turn and saved ground in the stretch GUINEA GOLD weakened and was doing his best to hold JUDY ROUNDERS. REAL SIR began slowly but soon raced to contention and gaining rapidly after leaving the backstretch, came to the outside of DR. FELIX in the stretch but was all out to win. DR. FELIX, although losing considerable ground in racing wide opened up a long lead after going a quarter, then held on with good courage in the final drive CULLERTON was close enough early but failed to threaten the leadership. DIRECT TINT went to the front when ready, but was unable to get far away and was unable to withstand the winner. BLUE AWARD had early speed but raced rather wide on the last two turns.
