SIDE SADDLE, rated within striking distance early, was well handled while improving her position and held the opposition safe in the drive. GIRDER lacked speed early and closed with a rush. TIP II., within striking distance, failed to secure room in the early stretch and displayed good late speed when clear. DOREENS PLAY raced close to the pace and lasted for a dead-heat for fourth with 0RC0. The latter pressed the pace, attained a slight lead briefly soon after entering the stretch and weakened. ALFORD held a menacing position and finished with a broken left stirrup iron. PHANTOM GOLD gave way. AMERICAN PLUCK saved ground while being rated in front and lacked the necessary staying qualities. PARLOR PINK showed nothing. Scratched— 46069 Josies Boy, 114. I Attendance, 9,368; Total Mutuel Pool, 78,715.
