HIGH JACKIE, slow to start, moved up between horses to the stretch, was brought to the outside and wore down the leaders with a rush in midstretch. KING TWIG was never far back, raced slightly wide and gave way suddenly in the late stages. BEACH BULL engaged LOUISE M. early, put that one away on leaving the backstretch and, while saving ground, faltered in the final drive. STEPENMATE was never far back, bore out on the final turn and could not gain on the top one when put to a drive. PLASTERED came back cut about the coronet band on the left rear. HIGH ORE, steadied along while being outrun early, moved through between horses in the stretch to wrest command momentarily between calls and gave way readily to the winner. PHILIPS PAL moved up with a rush on the outside rounding the turn to wrest command on entering the stretch, but had little left when the real test came. HOKEY tired from his pacemaking effort. UNCLE DON, forced wide early, remained on the outside thereafter and, while unable to handle the winner, was easily best of the others. WILLOW WARE made a bold but belated bid from between horses on entering the stretch. TO CHALLENGE raced slightly wide and faltered. SUNNY AL was never a serious factor. BRIARS RED was always far back. BRAVE BIM was used up early.
