NO TRICKS, ridden with confidence, was permitted to .drop some distance back of the leaders in the first haif-dile, but came strongly on the outside when urged, Land although racing wide in the stretch, easily took command to score with something in reserve. ALFRED BOULDER was always close to the pace and raced gamely to the end to best LOU ADAMS. The latter took |a clear lead nearing the stretch turn but weakened in the final drive. SENATOR MATHIS tired after getting to the front. ELLSTON and ULTIMATUM had early speed. SAY-BELLE was nicely rated early, and moving on the outside, took a short lead after rounding the last turn and was not seriously threatened by DATING CLOWN. The latter made a very strong run after leaving the backstretch but lost ground in the Padily ;tch. THIRD LADY saved ground all through the final three-eighths. VEZLARK headed the field momen-ily on the stretch turn, but weakened in the final drive. SKIPJACK was close up for seven furlongs, then lan to tire. FINE FETTLE was badly outrun.
