Helioscopes 1 :38 Mile for Massachuetts GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 13.— Helioscope went through his final paces over the local track this morning before vanning out on Saturday to Suffolk Downs in East Boston, Mass., where he is scheduled to start in the 0,000 added Massachusetts Handicap next Thursday. The star of the William G. Helis, Jr., stable continued to hold his excellent speed and he handily completed a mile over a fast surface in 1:38. The four-year-old Heliopolis colt, winner of the Valley Forge in his last start, went the first quarter-mile in :24, the half in :47% and the six furlongs in 1:12%. Trainer Howard Hausner expects to have Helio scope bedded down at Suffolk on Sunday morning axiM will probably give him his final unlimbering for tn mile and a quarter event on Wednesday morning. |
