CHIMAPHILA, away alertly, raced forwardly placed to the stretch, assumed command from ETERNAL SHOCK during the drive and won going av/ay. SO FAIR lacked early foot but finished extremely fast in the middle of the track. SPEEDY VAN raced wide entering the stretch. ETERNAL SHOCK, much used racing PEGGY D. into defeat, faltered during the drive. ALEIF failed to rally when set down through the stretch. PIGEONETTE saved ground throughout but could not reach serious contention. STROLLING BALL tired. DENE BALMER began slowly and showed little. BONDED BOURBON was never prominent. TOUCH OF OR had brief speed. PEGGY D. raced with ETERNAL SHOCK to the stretch, then quit. PERFECT STONE raced evenly and saved ground to the stretch, was taken out to secure racing room during the drive, then" disposed of the leaders in the last sixteenth. JIMS TOWN gradually worked way forward to the stretch, finished willingly under punishment, but could not overtake the top one. DENBRU raced evenly in a good performance and had no mishap. BONA ETERNAL began .fast, dropped back and raced well to the stretch, then was taken up during the drive when in tight quarters and failed to recover. BECKYS PRIDE raced well to the stretch, then drifted out while tiring. ROCKABYE MARY tired during the drive. RELICS WAR took command early, set the pace to the last eighth under pressure from DENBRU, then weakened. WAR NIMBUS was never prominent. PSYCHIC DREAM bore out entering the stretch. EMERALD began sluggishly and pulled up sore. HASTY SUN showed nothing. FOREVER HI was through early. SYRIAN GIRL, well placed from the start, raced by COTEAUX BOY after entering the stretch and drew clear under urging. ROBERT GABE, outrun to the last three-eighths, drifted out entering the stretch, then closed determinedly but was unable to seriously threaten the top one. TURN BLUE bore out at the stretch turn, then finished willingly when straight for the drive. COTEAUX BOY went to the. front early and quit when challenged by SYRIAN GIRL. TULIPA LADY was outrun and had no excuse. ROSEFLARE lacked early foot. CONDIBIT broke slowly and raced greenly. Overweight— Tulipa Lady, 2 pounds. FOURTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. WAG JAG steadily improved his position to the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and wore down PICKMEN in the last sixteenth. The latter, reserved early, reached the. lead in the stretch after disposing of PIPING ECHO, held on gamely, but could not withstand the top one, although much the best of the others. A claim of foul against WAG JAG by PICKMENs rider was not allowed. PIPING ECHO, a sharp factor from the start, approached the stretch with a clear advantage, but faltered when set down for the drive. MISS TIDWELL had early speed. GIFTED HAZEL was never dangerous and had no excuse; AMULET showed nothing. DONNA was through early. Wag Jag claimed by C. Greene. SIR RHYMER, a keen factor from the start, drifted to. the outside entering the stretch, then responded to vigorous urging and wore down LITTLE DON G. in the last strides. LITTLE-DON G. raced forwardly placed from the start, settled in the stretch with a clear lead but was ynable to withstand the winner and just missed. ALACASSULA lacked early foot but finished fast under brisk urging. GOLDEN PELT gave a good performance and dead-heated with LIABILITY for fourth. LIABILITY, away sluggishly, gradually ,worked way forward and was up to finish on equal terms with GOLDEN PELT. SAM PARK lacked racing room entering the stretch but failed to rally when clear for the drive. SIR RUSTOM showed little. MONMOUTH raced well until inside the stretch, then weakened. LILAC could not keep up. KING MIDAS was never dangerous. ALAMEDA KID was through early.
