► . ► Nashua and Hasfy House Farm Pace Nations Money Winners Late Bob McDaniel Leading Trainer and Shoemaker Has Jockey Edge Over Hartack Belair Studs Nashua, through his triumph in the Preakness and his second in the Kentucky Derby, has increased his earnings in 1955 to 77,125. From April 25, the date * of the previous tabulations, through May 30, the Nasrullah colt from Belair Stud, earned 2,550, of which 7,550 was earned in the Preakness, and 0,000 for his second back of Swaps in the Derby. Thus far this year, Nashua has won four 00,000 races, accounting for the Flamingo, Florida Derby and Wood Memorial as well as the Preakness, He now leads Swaps by 46,575. Swaps has earned 30,550. Nashuas performances likewise were in-1 strumental in moving up Belair Stud, owned by William Woodward, Jr., to "within easy striking distance of Mr. and Mrs. Allie Reubens Hasty House Farm. Belair now has 09,515 as" against 19209 for the Toledo, Ohio-owned establishment which continues in front. Since the previous com-I pilation, bearers of the famed red and white polka dot silks of Belair earned 9,840, while Hasty House campaigners took down 2,130 in purses. Rex C. Ellsworth, owner of Swaps, moved into third place among the leading owners, with 86,167. Ellsworths horses won 07,247 during the past five-week period, with Swaps alone accounting for 26,500. El Drag and Bequeath also did their part to swell the Ellsworth total. Swaps, incidentally, is second to Nashua, with 30,550, and he, too, has triumphed in five races this season. Social Outcast, with 74,275, ranks third, and Determine, 7-,075, is fourth. . Vanderbilt Drops to Fourth The Alfred G. Vanderbilt stable, which dropped irom third in the previous listing, to fourth, now has a total of 45,680. Willie Hartack made substantial inroads into Willie Shoemakers lead among the jockeys, booting home 51 winners out of 185 mounts he accepted during the period from April 25 to May 30. Shoemaker, on the other hand, had 34 for a. total of 161, 10"more than Hartack. Ted Atkinson moved into third place in the standings, coming through with 35 winners for a seasons total of 101. The name of the late Robert H. "Red" McDaniel still appears at the head of the trainers list with 48 winners, his forty-eighth success coming just a few hours before the noted conditioner took his own life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge on May 5. By saddling 18 winners sLice the previous accounting, Willie Molter has moved into second place with 46 successes, three more than T. L. Altamira has to his credit. W. P.
