Y., June 3. — The only genuine stakes filly in the field, Pin Oak Farms Bless Pat, coasted to one of the easiest victories of the meeting in the featured Strathmore Purse today, reaching the end of the seven furlongs three lengths before C. T. Chenerys Manotick with Hedley Woodhouse reaching for fresh holds. Nelson I. Asiels Tarquilla was a Length farther back and seven lengths before Calumet Farms Mims. Heavily favored by the sunny-day throng of 8,806, Bless Pat paid .90 after getting the distance in 1:24. | Bless Pat is a handsome dark brown daughter of Pavot from Dog Blessed, by Bull Dog, who finished only a length behind High Voltage in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico, after setting all the pace, while last year she finished in the money in the Adirondack and Schuylerville Stakes among other good efforts. Pin Oak Farm is the nom de course of Mrs; H. Burnett Robinson, the former Josephine Abercrom-r bie, who has been one of the most extensive yearling buyers of recent years. Bless Pat shot to the front at the start of the Strathmore, while Wheatley Stables Long, fiStretchk paused, .for a moment of llehtiin§di]tattqnafte the gates, opened. then took after the field when too late to take part in the race. While Bless Pat bowled along on the lead under double wraps, Lady Atom, Manotick, Mims and Tarquilla engaged in a fierce struggle behind her. Lady Atom had enough after three furlongs and Manotick, hard ridden by Dave Gorman, took upthe pursuit, followed, by Tarquilla and Mims. Bless Pat continued to set a swift pace while racing well within herself, while Manotick fought on gamely to stave off the stubborn bid of Tarquilla. Mims weakened badly in the final quarter, while Long Stretch rejoined the field turning for home and succeeded in finishing fifth, followed by Lady Atom and Flat Side, who. completed the small field.
