High Ore Comes Through For Suffolk Followers . Favorite 3ets Up in Last Jump To Down Pilot Model by Head SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 3. — Favorite players in the crowd of 11,332 here this afternoon struck a mother lode when-C. B. Fischbachs High Ore got up in the last jump to head out Mrs. R. V. Robidous Pilot Model in the sixth race. The winner closed on the outside to run down the pace setting Pilot Model and nail him right onthe wire. A length in back of this pair came Oakhurst Farms Jillion Barels, who nosed out Mrs. W. Hinphys Sound of Dawn for third money. With Frank Solimena in the saddle, High Ore returned .80 and sped the six furlongs over a slow track in 1:12. The win-ner a bay daughter of Orestes m. — Hi-wasse, was winning her third start in 10* appearances this year and her victory knocked "off Pilot Models string of three straight. The winner was-the- first successful choice of the afternoon. High Ore was made the choice, off her recent * bang-up races to better company than she was meeting this afternoon. As was expected, Pilot Model spurted out of the gate on top and, running with his head in his usual low manner, led the field on its merry chase. Palatine Pet and Hildrex were close behind himwhile High Ore was in a striking position on the outside. Pilot Model continued to hold sway at the head of the stretch, when Jillion Barels and High Ore lodged their challenges. With Norman Mercier urging Pilot Model on with whip and heel, the Jet Pilot colt stubbornly resisted the challenge of High Ore, but the latter was equally hard ridden by Solimena and managed to forge to the front a few strides from the wire. Jillion Barels, third along the rail, had to be taken up just past the finish line to avoid running up on Pilot Models heels, but still was good enough by a nose over Sound of Dawn. The latter, making his first start sinca the Fair Grounds meeting, turned in a good effort. In the rear early, he. was on the outside in the stretch, then was steered to the inside to avoid being carried out, and finished strongly between horses. Sound of Dawn was highly regarded by owner-trainer Billy Hinphy at the Fair Grounds this past winter until the colt went wrong.
