Presnell Stable Returns For Centennial Campaign LITTLETON, Colo., June 3. — Centennial Race Tracks leading trainer in 1953, Eddie Presnell, will return after a years absence for the 50 day-season opening here July 1, racing secretary Bill Milner announced Wednesday. Milner, beginning to pick the 1,100 horses that will race at Centennial from more than 3,000 applications, also disclosed J. H. Thatchers My Lovely will be on hand to defend the filly and mare championship she earned the past four seasons by winning consecutive runnings of the Columbine Handicap. Presnells public stable this year is headed by M. H. Robineaus three-year-old filly, Foster Sister, winner of the 5,000 added Junior League Stakes last summer at Hollywood Park. Also returning is Robineaus Free Soul, holder of the Centennial track record for 1 1-16 miles. Free Soul set the mark of 1:43% three years ago. One of Centennials favorites, jockey Gerry Gardiner, will do the riding for the powerful Presnell stable. Gardiner steered home 43 winners last season to finish second to Billy Powell in the jockey standings.
