Larry Adams Takes Over As Leading Lincoln Rider LINCOLN DOWNS, Lincoln, R. I.. May 6. — For the first time at the meeting the leadership in the race among the jockeys has been taken over by a rider other than apprentice Richard Winant, who is sidelined by an injury. The past week found Larry Adams moving into the pace -setting berth with a total of 50 victories in the 47 days and well on his way to clinch the sessions top honors. Winant dropped into the second spot with 48 triumphs, while George Gibb was in third place with 34 and Allen Fairbanks fourth with 25. Trainer Bill Rodgers, who is the employer of jockey Adams, continued to lead the conditioners at the meeting by sending 29 horses to the charmed circle. His closest rival at the finish of racing last Saturday was the young East Providence, R.I., trainer, Dave Hicks, who jumped into the second spot by having tightened the girth on 13 winners. Dick Posey, Bill Hinphy ancfl Bill Terry Jr., were deadheated for thircB place with 12 winners each. ■
