It was two lengths farther back to William S. Millers Rellin S. W. for third money, while T. Alie Grissoms Litte Reaper was fourth in the five and one-half furlongs test. / Olympia Colts Second Straight Alhambra, a well-made son of Olympia and Robins Charms, who has now won his only two starts, ran a most courageous race for the astute Johnny Heckmann to capture first money of 0,775 in the fifteenth running of the Primer. Under 119 pounds, Alhambra was clocked in 1:04% over a fast though dull strip and paid .80. The crowd of 13,786 went to Alhambra in a big way at the windows and received his victory warmly. Owner Hooper, a Florida construction magnate, was on hand to greet his colt in the winners circle, together with Heckmann and trainer Chuck Parke. Alhambra opened up a two-length advantage on the far turn with Leather Button and Little Reaper still closest to the leader. Lincoln Road, well regarded because-of two successive wins, was five lengths behind Little Reaper at this point. « Straightening for home, Little Reaper came out a bit as Leather Button began to cut into Alhambras lead. At the eighth pole the battle was jointed, eLather Button now only a head behind Alhambra. To the sixteenth pole they went head and head and just past that marker, Leather Button inched his way in front. But Alhambra, thoroughly courageous, was not to be denied. He came on again and seemed to be inching away at the wire, though his margin was as close as they can make it. Taking the lead shortly after the start, Cozy Ada, running for the estate of Sam E. Wilson Jr., raced in front the remainder of the way, withstanding a mild challenge from Mrs. Ada L. Rices Inquisitive in the final sixteenth to capture the Terigrani Purse by a length. It was another length back to Fred W. Hoopers Alabama Charm, while Hasty House Farms Bluebility, the 6-5 favorite, firiished fourth.
