► Mrs. Markeys Statement On Calumets Anniversary LEXINGTON, Ky., June 26.— Mrs. Gene Markey, owner of Calumet Farm and racing stable, on the eve of the silver anniversary of the famed establishment, issued the following statement from her home at the farm where she is convalescing following recent surgery: "I feci .a sense of deep appreciation j to the fine racing traditions of Arlington Park, and to the press who have always dealt so kindly with Calumets victories and defeats. "For me it is keen pleasure each year to send our horses to the post at Mr. Lindheimers beautiful course. "The racing triumphs and failures of this quarter of a century have left me with so many memories, both gay and sad, that it is difficult to single out the high points. "But may I say, we have always tried to give our best wherever we have competed, and will continue to give our best as long as the devils red and blue arc my colors."
