► _ John McShains Ballymoss Easy Irish Derby Winner Philadelphia Owner Present to See Colts Four-Length Score Special to Daily Racing Form KHjDARE, Ireland, June 26 Reuters .— Philadelphian John McShains Ballymoss, who ran second in the Epsom Derby three weeks ago, scored a runaway four-length victory in the 9,000 Irish Derby at The Curragh race course here today. McShain was present to see the triumph. Ridden by Tommy Burns, Ballymoss was a firm favorite at 4-to-9 in the field of eight Jrish-breds. Cyril Myerscoughs Hindu Festival, ridden by Rae Johnstone, was second, with Mrs. E. J. Kings Valentine Slipper, with Paddy Powell in the saddle, another length back in third place. Another American-owned colt, Eleonora Sears Ample Forth, finished fourth. • McShain and Miss Sears were trying for their first Irish classic. Bugle, who is a half brother to the American Blue Choir, was prominent in the early stages, but no one could stay with Ballymoss when he went to the front three furlongs out and won the 12-furlong race comfortably. Ballymoss, by Mossborough, out of Indian Call, is trained by Vincent OBrien, who is better known as a steeplechase trainer.
