Shoemaker Astride Five Hollywood Park Winners HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, _ Calif., June 26. — Bill Shoemaker racked up the first riding quintuple of the season here yesterday and the defending saddle king-, who has won seven of the last eight Hollypark championships, threatened to make a runaway of the current contest. Although he has missed 13 of the 34 racing days thus far, Shoemaker has chalked up 45 victories to hold a lead of six over veteran Johnny Longden, who missed yesterdays action due to a week-end jaunt to Vancouver. Shoemaker won the featured 0,000 Los Angeles Petroleum Club Purse with Mrs. Ada L. Rices Hoop Band for his fourth victory of the afternoon and then closed out the proceedings with a triumph aboard Jetosorno in the mile and. a quarter nightcap. They were two of the four favorites to click for the crowd of 23,821 and Shoemaker also won with the other two.
