Official Program Numbers of Placed Horses Official program numbers have been added to Daily Racing Form charts. These official program numbers immediately precede each horses name in that portion of the chart which contains Vhe mutuel prices and equivalent odds to of the horses involved in the official pay-off. In most instances, the official program numbers are similar to the post position numbers; in some cases they are completely different, being affected by late scratches, stable couplings and mutuel fields. At all times the official program numbers will conform with those assigned each horse in the official track program.
