British Tracks Handled 5,653,800 Last Year Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, April 30 Reuters .—The totalisator turnover in Britain during 1958 showed a decrease of 2,268 as compared with the preceding year. The annual report of the Racecourse Control Board states that the turnover was 5,653,810, but the figure is not regarded as unsatisfactory since 58 days were lost because of bad weather as compared with 25 days in 1957. The sum of ,558,200 was available for distribution for the benefit of racing as compared with ,540,000 in 1957 and ,568,000 in 1956. Out of this ,558,200, 53,880 was assigned to the racecourse fund and 11,840 to subsidise the cost of shipping race horses to meetings.
