BROTHER THOMAS, placed outside -the stalls for the start, was far back early, came to the outside in the stretch and, finishing gamely, got up in the last stride. TAP TIME, closest to the early pace, wore down BLIND HOPE inside the final eighth and, while holding on gamely, could not withstand the winner. MIANNE lacked early speed, came between horses in the stretch and finished gamely". BLIND, HOPE showed speed in the pacemaking, but tired in the last eighth. EQUANIMITY tired badly. AFRONETTr. hustled into the lead shortly after the start, shook off CURLEY CUE entering the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. CRYSTAL FLYER, well placed in the early running, saved ground all the way and held on well. WAVY SEA was going well at the end. CURLEY CUE quit. GUESS raced well. MISS FIREFLY, far back early, moved up steadily on the outside on the lower turn, ducked to the inside in the final eighth and finished well. MARY CARMEN, on the inside for the first half mile, held on well and outlasted MOSS BOND for the show. The latter, well placed in the early running, tired slightly in the final eighth. CHIEF EVERGREEN, left at the post, galloped after the field and beat SOLDIER GIRL when the Utter quit. JOBIOSO, placed on the outside for the start, refused to break with the field and was left. TEXAS MOON, sent into the lead in the back stretch, was rated along steadily and, while tiring at the end, held on well. BOURBON PRINCE finished gamely. DUG IN was outrun.
