LADY THIRTEEN, away fast, drew into a good lead in the run through the back stretch, fought it out willingly when challenged in the stretch and outlasted DOUGLAS F. at the end. The latter moved up fast on the outside approaching the far turn, fought it out gamely in the stretch and just lasted. FITKIN moved up stoutly on the inside entering the stretch, but was in close quarters through the final sixteenth. BE THERE, well placed, was unable to make up any ground under punishment. WROUGHT IRON made up some ground in the closing three-eighths. BRAMBLE RUN was unable to reach the leaders. LADY PAL moved up after going a half mile, then dropped back. GAYETTE, well placed all the way, continued with good energy to the end. MY GOODNESS was shuffled back in the run down the far side of the track and, unable to gain clear sailing for the first half mile, came stoutly through the stretch. TWOSOME, in nearest pursuit of the pace for most of the way, tired in the final drive. JOAN ASBESTOS was in close quarters approaching the far turn and had to be eased back. She came willingly again in the final three-sixteenths. SCOUT PLANE, away well, was unable to keep up. BUD BROOM, far back early, came with good courage in the stretch run. PADDYS SISTER was well placed, but was unable to make up any ground in the drive. JESSIE V. L. faltered after racing in nearest pursuit of the pacemaker. FOREIGN LEGION was never able to enter into serious contention. SCOTCH GOLD, restrained early, moved up fast, wore down TOANO for the lead and. despite holding on gamely, was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. TOANO had good speed from the start, but, hard ridden to hold her advantage, tired through the stretch. HARDWARE could not keep up. LONE HAND, outrun early, closed with a rush. HASTINOLA was prominently placed from the beginning and tired in the last eighth. ALL FORLORN, on the outside from the start, tired when reaching the stretch. SATRAPAL was outrun. AMERICAN BELLE improved her position steadily and held on stubbornly in the closing drive, though was unable to reach the first two. STILL ALARM made up some ground. ROCK POINT, restrained until the last five-sixteenths, was permitted to drop too far out of the contention and was unable to reach the leaders when called upon.
