BETTYS BUDDY, a keen factor in the early running, took command midway of the turn, opened up a clear lead under strong pressure entering the stretch and outstayed ROMNEY ROYAL under a drive. ROMNEY ROYAL was hard urged to maintain a forward position after being overhauled and held on with . good courage. UVALDE slipped through between horses when nearing the stretch and finished stoutly. BOLD PIRATE was under strong handling all the way. TINDER BOX broke well, but could not hold a forward position and was not dangerous when put to a hard drive. MARFEU had a rough trip. FLYING FEATHERS raced forwardly while fencing nicely, but was; unable to menace the winner after making a bad landing at the last fence. LITTLE WOMAN bettered her position slowly and could not reach the leaders. CLONARD failed to menace when placed to severe punishment. QUICK VERDICT raced evenly throughout. SNAKE CHARMER was never a factor. MATAGAIN was outrun. DANGAY was held safe. SKIMALONG fell at the final jump and CAPSTAN ran out at the first fence. SARACEN followed close to CANARD in the first half mile, took a slight lead when straightened into the stretch, but failed to withstand the winner um.cr punishment. IRON ORE worked her way up on the outside and finished determinedly approaching the finish. FERVID was forced to race wide and came with good courage at the end. TITIAN KIDDIE moved up stoutly midway of the turn, but tired during the final drive. SUNDROPS was going gamely at the close. BANANA raced in spots. CANARD quit badly in the last quarter mile.
