MICHELL TO CONDITION COLDSTREAM STUD HORSES LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 6 Dr. John Baird has returned to Coldstream Stud Farm from Maryland. The horses which have been trained by Lloyd Gentry for Elmer Dale Shaffer and Coldstream Stud are being transferred to Burt H. Michell at Laurel. He will train them during the Laurel and Pimlico meetings, and after the close of Pimlico November 11, they will come to Lexington to spend the winter at the farm. The only horses to be raced in the winter are Log and Lull, daughters of Bull Dog, which will go to Miami, Fla., with the Bomar Stable horses. Dr. Baird says that further than this there will be no more racing except for three yearling fillies which have been retained as future brood marcs. They are a sister to Evening Tide, a daughter of Sickle, from Valdinas dam, and a daughter of Jean Val-jean, from Elma Star. Dr. Baird reports the purchase of Lofty Lady, by Pot au Feu, from Gentle Play. This four-year-old filly was bred at Coldstream Stud and later sold. She is to be retired to the stud and will be bred to Bull Dog.
