t JAMAICA TURF NOTES R. L. Parrish and Ellis Johnson arrived here with horses in their charge. W. E. Martin returned to Aqueduct from Havre de Grace. Percy M. Pike, who has a stable here, arrived from his Los Angeles home and will remain for some time. Matt Brady will take fifteen horses to Miami for the Middleburg Stable of W. J. Ziegler. Charles McCulIoch left for his Chicago home, but plans to return for the closing days at Empire City. E. R. Bradley stated after the running of the Futurity that Billionaire would probably be rested for the year. His Brooklyn is now regarded as his chief reliance for the Pimlico Futurity. Jerry Carroll acted as toastmastcr at the annual Futurity Day clambake of the Queens Club. The affair was attended by some 200 racing men. Francis Dunne said that he would accept stall reservations for the Empire City meeting, which follows Jamaica and brings to a close the New York season. Antonio Ruiz, well known Havana sportsman and owner of the Plaza Hotel in that city, was an arrival for a few days of racing. Hollywood was represented by Chico Marx and Harry Cohen for the opening. Jockey E. Litzcnberger left for Laurel to join the Maemere Farm, shipped to that point following the close of Belmont Jockey H. Dabson arrived from Maryland and was granted a temporary license. He is with the Ascot Stable. Eleven claims were filed during the Belmont Park meeting. F. Schraudenbach was suspended for five days by the starter, and jockey Robertson was fined 5 by the same official. Both sentences were for disobedience at the post. Trainer J. P. Smith said that Victor E. Emanuels Miss Merriment would fill her engagement here October 12 and if Joseph Murphy will arrange a later- date he will ship his fleet mare to River Downs for a match race. B. B. Williams took over the W. H. Furst horses recently and will train them for late fall and winter meetings. T. J. Healey will leave for Lexington, Ky., to inspect the horses of C. V. Whitney. Flying Cross will be kept in training and pointed for the Pimlico Futurity. The Ascot Stable, in charge of Fred Kraft, arrived from Maryland. According to reports, T. J. Pendergast, Kansas City owner and breeder, will dispose of all his horses in training and breeding stock.
