FLICKERING broke alertly and showed high speed from the start, responded to severe urging in the stretch run and outlasted CANDLELIGHT in the final strides. The latter dropped back slightly after the start. imDrnved his position steadily and ramc around the leaders in the final eighth to finish with a rush. GOLD CROSS broke well and was kept close itn on the outside, was blocked at the eighth post and came between the leaders, then closed fast. BOB CHARLIE showed a good effort all the way. HIGH MABEL vras close up from the start and had no mishaps in the running. COMPANY saved ground rounding the stretch turn and then quit. Scratched 35393 Inactive, 115. Won ridden out; second and third driving. STUBBS broke fast and drew away into a brief lead, opened up rounding the far turn and was placed under pressure for the final eighth to hold DEDUCE safe. The latter worked his way un on the outside from a slow beginning, lost ground entering the stretch and closed with determination. SUNNED made a determined bid rounding the stretch turn, but faltered in the final drive. BRIGHT HAVEN broke sluggishly and was outrun early and could not menace the leaders in the stretch run. DUNULT saved much ground turning for home and then quit. MERMESS showed a flash of early speed and then quit. Overweight Duniilt, 5 pounds. THIRD RACE 5 3-1 FURLONGS. HAR- VESTING was kept close up from the start, came to the outside of IDLE MIDGET in the stretch and finished with good courage. IDLE MIDGET was rushed into command after the start, showed high speed, but quit fast in the final sixteenth. TOP RADIO was placed under pressure rounding the far turn, but was not a menace to the winner. DAYTONIAN had no mishaps. RAINLAND quit badly in the stretch after showing early speed. The latter, from a slow start, improved his position on the inside, camp to the outside of the leaders entering tho stretch and finished with determination. SWIFT LAD followed the early pace under steady restraint, was placed under urging rounding the stretch turn, moved up gamely but then faltered at the end. RIPARIAN was rushed into command after the break, was bumped by the winner and forced down on the inside. AVENAL was outrun and could not improve his position. ABBOTS TRICK was outrun all the way.
